Harm reduction, Cannabis seed, Vitamin E and aging http://projectpeace.blogspot.com/
"Harm reduction" at least includes, if not begins with, proper nutrition. To be considered is that nutrition has major impacts on aging, prevention, treatment, recovery from and transmission of illnesses, such as HIV/AIDS and Avian flu.
"Research carried out in Uganda showed that food insecurity and malnutrition (rather than medical treatment and drugs) were foremost among the immediate problems faced by female-headed AIDS-affected households (Topouzis and Hemrich, 1996). This further aggravates the situation, as good nutrition is of great importance to the victims of the AIDS epidemic as well as to children and pregnant and lactating women." -- from "HIV/AIDS ISSUES IN NUTRITION AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES" http://www.fao.org/documents/show_cdr.asp?url_file=/docrep/X4390t/x4390t04.htm
Whether people use drugs or not, what we eat determines, to a great extent, the condition of our health. Chemical pollution, virulent strains of infection, malnutrition, stress and many other factors threaten everyone's wellbeing.
Prohibition of Cannabis has suppressed knowledge, research and development regarding many health benefits afforded by different parts of the Cannabis plant. Most incredibly, the exceptional nutritional value of the Cannabis seed has been disregarded, even by the UN/FAO.
The following study provides yet another piece of information to be considered when discussing the costs of prohibition on issues of health that impact everyone.
"Vitamin E improves neurological function in aging mammals" Sep 4, 2005 Research Article American Journal of Physiology http://www.rxpgnews.com/research/aging/article_2227.shtml
"Vitamin E supplementation was "able to prevent the decrease in the activities of brain enzymes that are mitochondrial markers of aging: mtNOS (by 95%), Mn-SOD (by 60%), and NADH-cytochrome c reductase and cytochrome oxidase activity" by 35%, the paper said."

The following paper details the nutritional value of hempeed:
"Hempseed as a nutritional resource: An overview" J.C. Callaway, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Kuopio, FIN-70211 Kuopio, Finland:
Table 4. Typical nutritional values (mg/100 g) for vitamins and minerals in hempseeds
Vitamin E 90.0

"Freedom to farm" is a universal right that everyone is naturally entitled to. It is absurd to suggest that anyone needs permission to feed themselves.
Once the true value of Cannabis is properly estimated, it becomes obvious how enormously tragic the induced scarcity of it is. The question remains,
"How can the governing bodies of human society, including and especially the United States government and the UN/FAO, continue to suppress knowledge, research, development and trade of the the world's most healthful, unique and essential nutritional resource?"
Whatever harms are perceived or imagined regarding the use of 'marijuana' do not begin to compare with the detrimental effects imposed by inducing Cannabis scarcity and ignorance of its potential benefits.
